Optikos is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and creative mechanical engineer to join our growing business of optical design services and optical system development. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and develop innovative optical systems for our customers and for the Optikos product line. Our small company atmosphere (75 employees) is ideal for those engineers who enjoy the full gamut of product development, from conceptualization, modeling and simulation, to prototyping and laboratory testing. You will build the products you design and see them manufactured for use in consumer, industrial, medical, and aerospace applications. Optikos specializes in taking on interesting and challenging projects and we are eager to add talent to our exceptional team!
Mechanical Engineers at Optikos are expected to participate in and sometimes lead the mechanical design of standard product upgrades, new standard products and engineering service development programs. This may include solid modeling in SolidWorks, completing required analysis, generating drawings, releasing parts for procurement, working with vendors, assembling components, performing test and verification, and documenting and presenting results. They may also be tasked with program management activities such as producing, monitoring and reporting schedule and budget performance. Mechanical engineers participate in team meetings and training, prepare engineering documentation, and train others in its use.

Requirements:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering,
3+ years of experience in a field involving opto-mechanical or precision engineering - Experience with optical metrology and optical assembly is highly desired
- Proficient in the use of SolidWorks
- Experience performing FEA is desired
- Experience working to drafting standards and employing GD&T
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
