The October 10th NES/OSA meeting’s featured speaker was Dr. Rainer Weiss, 2017 winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics. Dr. Weiss is a professor at MIT, and was one of the people who conceived of the LIGO Project that detected gravity waves that were predicted by Einstein 100 years ago. His talk was titled, “Beginning the Exploration of the Universe with Gravitational Waves.”
