The Optikos Team Prepares for Photonics West 2025

Photonics West promises to be an excellent week of networking, training, and innovating. SPIE describes it as the world’s premier event for lasers, biomedical optics and biophotonic technologies, quantum, and optoelectronics. We talked with the experts from Optikos who will be joining the event to chat about what they are most excited for.

Lars Sandstroem shares, “Photonics West is a great opportunity to connect with industry leaders, engage with existing and new customers, and explore how our photonics expertise can bring their applications to life.” Byron Seabolt agrees, noting he looks forward to “connecting with customers and industry leaders to explore cutting-edge advancements in photonics and optics.”

Our team especially appreciates Photonics West for the opportunity to discover and brainstorm with customers on interesting optical and opto-mechanical challenges. With over 40 years of expertise, Optikos has a full history of trying out new ways of approaching challenges. As Oscar Conroy, puts it “I’m looking forward to seeing how our capabilities and technology at Optikos can help people solve their toughest problems.”

Our team is also there to learn from other industry experts and use that as inspiration for future projects. Roy Youman mentions he is “looking forward to seeing the latest application of optical technologies in consumer products and the latest advances in infrared imaging technology.” Seabolt adds that he’ll be following “the latest trends driving growth in optical manufacturing, metrology, and emerging technologies.”

The Optikos ColliMeter™ offers precise measurement for the set up and qualification of collimators.

With Photonics West being one of the largest events Optikos plans on attending in 2025, it is also where we will celebrate many accomplishments of the past year showcasing new product introductions and their unique customer applications. Rick Skoglund highlights this by detailing “I’m excited that Optikos’ Kevin Sweeney will be speaking at the OPTO Symposium on January 27th on the measurement of object distance for projected virtual objects using a scanning pentaprism and digital alignment telescope (aka the ColliMeter™.) Furthermore, this new product family will be on display throughout the show and has a broad set of applications including setting collimation of source objects to rifle scope reticle focus.”
